2020 a year of panic & pandemic. People were apprehensive and tensed most of the time with many losing their jobs and having to move back to their home towns etc. Life had changed, and changing times also saw that those who made the best of the change move forward while others were falling apart. We at NIQC International wanted to recognize and promote those who had made that small effort to stick on despite all odds and make a mark in the industry they were in. Hence, we decided to go ahead with the DN Business Excellence awards.

The going was tough, though we decided to go ahead with the Awards, the biggest question was how will we conduct the event as we cannot arrange a live public event due to the pandemic. We put our team to research for options online and conducting live awards and events were now something most event management companies were good at, options were limited. We had to create Magic online. We decided to put on our thinking hats and have a go at it. We did not want to take the easy way out and say we cannot do it. 

Starting with phase one which included award categories, enrolling for projects, the process from submission to shortlisting the winners.

Phase two included finding and tie-up with the event management company, vendors for trophies goodies, and courier.

Phase three wherein we contacted dignitaries of various industries to be our guest speakers and guest of Honour including check for their availability and plan the schedule as per their convenience.

Phase Four, which included digital marketing, brochures, invitations

Phase Five from accepting projects from various industries to the shortlisting and choosing the winners in each category

We saw many participants submitting their projects for winning awards in the categories of: Kaizen, Poka Yoke, 5S, Six Sigma, and Lean. All selected projects were published on social media so that the winners were getting a great platform to depict their successful venture into continuous improvement. We saw the students of NIQC participating wholeheartedly.

The Grand days dawned, the team was a little tensed as it was our D-Day. The event commenced and WOW what an effect. The speakers, the awards, the fun activities, all started flowing smoothly one after another. The Man behind all this action Dheerendra Negi was smiling. He had been ensuring his team got all the support they needed while he moved them to greatness.

It was two days of fun and happiness and of course some tense moments as we all chipped in to ensure things moved smoothly. None of the hurdles the team went through were visible to the audience who just saw a smooth brilliantly coordinated event going before their eyes.

YES, IT WAS A GRAND SUCCESS. Worth all the sleepless nights and hard efforts put in by the team. When the curtains were drawn the whole team had the glow in their mind of having conducted a wonderful online event successfully, relishing their DREAM come true.
